Our Process
At McVay Homes, building your dream home should be an exciting and enjoyable journey. Our team at McVay Constructions guides you through every step from finding the perfect lot to the day you receive your keys.
The process begins by selecting a lot or land. Clients may bring their own house plan or work with an architect to create one. An initial meeting reviews the project vision, features, finishes, and overall expectations.
Financing options, such as owner financing, mortgages, or construction loans, are discussed in detail. Once the price is finalized and all terms are agreed upon, the construction contract is signed.
Construction begins with the foundation. During this phase, the customer receives a list of trade partners and suppliers for cabinets, appliances, doors, paint, lighting, flooring, and more.
Clients meet with vendors for finish selections (cabinets, appliances, lighting, paint, flooring, tile, doors). They also meet directly with the Plumber, Electrician, and HVAC contractor during the rough-in stage to discuss any desired changes.
The builder meets with the client at key stages, trim installation, painting, cabinet installation, and tile layout, to ensure customer satisfaction. Once the fixtures selected by the client are installed, the builder and client review the driveway, sidewalks, and landscaping plans.
When construction is complete, the builder and client perform a final walkthrough and create a punch list. The Certificate of Occupancy and Fortified Certificate are obtained, and the home proceeds to closing.
